One Layer Wishes

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

Ever since I noticed Diane participating in OLW challenges I've wanted to give it a try. I definitely love embellishments and ribbons, but loved the look of more simple designs too. This card came together in about a minute and a half, yet I love it as much as some that have taken me an hour to make.

This week's challenge is Patriotic Cards. I'll see what I can do:)

Rainbow Mosaic

Sunday, June 27, 2010

I made all of these patterns with the one double line stamp from the Library Ledger set. Some lines were stamped perpendicular to each other and others were stamped on the diagonal. The diagonal stamping creates a harlequin type pattern. The color patterns you could use are endless. For my project I chose to use a pattern that creates a pixelated rainbow. I think the effect is pretty cool!

Thanks for coming by today!

PTI June Blog Hop: Color

LEMON TART - MELON BERRY - AQUA MIST

This month's Blog Hop is all about color. One of my all time favorite color combinations is Pure Poppy and Spring Rain. However, I wanted to experiment with color rather than default to a color combination that is comfortable. I was inspired by a necklace that I have. I tried to photograph it and couldn't get the "real" colors to show up. These colors come from that necklace as well as a bit of gold to represent the metal chain.

Honeycomb Jar

Friday, June 25, 2010

Here's another great jar I picked up while visiting my aunt in PA. The glass has a honeycomb pattern on it.
The lid has a domed metal insert perfect for the stems of flowers.

My hydrangea bush finally flowered this year after many years with nothing. It's quite a show:)

A Jar of Sweets For Jen

Thursday, June 24, 2010

A friend of mine at work recently got engaged. I wanted to bring her a little something before the end of the school year. I put together this jar of chocolate hearts and was waiting for my Friendship jars set to come in the mail. It came just in time. When I got home yesterday my package was waiting for me. I was able to quickly make a card and give it to her today, the last day of school!!
I think it came out cute, but I would have definitely made those holes for the raffia much smaller. I didn't have time to redo it last night.
She really liked it. That's the most important part.
